Eigentlich wollte Clare nur ein paar Monate in Luxemburg bleiben. Heute macht sie einen der bekanntesten Social-Media-Accounts des Landes und begeistert mit ihren Memes hunderttausende Menschen.

Aus ein paar Monaten wurden sieben Jahre und aus einer spontanen Idee auf Instagram einer der bekanntesten Social-Media-Accounts Luxemburgs: @notclaireinluxembourg

Was als kreatives Ventil begann, um die eigenen Erfahrungen als Expat in Luxemburg zu verarbeiten, entwickelte sich innerhalb kürzester Zeit zu einer Community mit knapp 60.000 (!) Menschen. Mit ihrem Account trifft Clare den Nerv einer ganzen Generation von Menschen, die zwischen Kulturen, Ländern, Sprachen und Identitäten in der Grenzregion leben.

In dieser Folge @kleinstadtheldinnen sprechen wir über den Mut, einfach anzufangen, über Kreativität neben dem Vollzeitjob (!) und darüber, wie aus einem kleinen Herzensprojekt plötzlich eine Plattform wird, die Menschen verbindet. Wir sprechen über ihr Leben als Wahl-Luxemburgerin, über Heimatgefühl fern der Heimat und darüber, warum Humor manchmal die beste Sprache ist.

Eine meiner absoluten Lieblingsfolgen jetzt schon. Und pleeeeease ignore mein viel zu begeistertes Lachen. Ich habe einen riesigen Girl-Crush auf diese Wonderwoman. Aber mal ehrlich: Wer nicht? 😍

Clare originally planned to stay in Luxembourg for just a few months. Today, she runs one of the country’s best-known social media accounts and entertains hundreds of thousands of people with her memes.

A few months turned into seven years. And a spontaneous Instagram idea turned into one of Luxembourg’s most recognizable social media accounts: @notclaireinluxembourg.

What started as a creative outlet to process her own experiences as an expat quickly grew into a community of nearly 60,000 (!) people. Through her account, Claire perfectly captures the everyday realities of a generation living between cultures, countries, languages and identities in the Greater Region.

In this episode, we talk about having the courage to simply start, building a creative project alongside a full-time job (!), and how a small passion project can grow into a platform that brings people together. We talk about her life as a Luxemburger by choice, finding a sense of home far away from home, and why humor is sometimes the most universal language of all.
